F&Q
In this section you will find some common question's and facts about our clinic and procedures
What type of Animals do we treat.
Clifton animal hospital is a small animal clinic that only treats canine and felines.
Payment
At our clinic, we accept a variety of payment methods for your convenience, including cash, checks (with a form of ID), credit cards, and Care Credit. Please note that there is a 3% processing fee for any card payments. While we do not accept insurance directly, we can assist you by sending records to your insurance company for reimbursement of your claim, which you will need to submit personally. All Payment is due at time of service. We do not offer any payment plans.
Prescriptions
At Clifton Animal Hospital we carry numerous prescriptions that are needed to keep your dog/cat happy and healthy. If for some reason we do not have it in stock we can always order or authorize a written or on-line prescription via our own online pharmacy. You can visit our pharmacy at cah.covetruspharmacy.com.
Heartworm Prevention
We like to start heartworm prevention when your puppy is around 16 weeks of age. If they have not started the regime by six months of age or have not been on heartworm prevention continually we do require a heart worm test which is good for 30 days before we can get them started on the prevention.
Euthanasia
We have a couple different options for euthanasia. We offer private appointments for this procedure or you can say your goodbyes and hand them over to one of our caring employees and we can hold them for the procedure. We offer private cremation through Final Paws Crematory, as well communal cremation, general disposal or you may choose to take them home to arrange their final resting place.
Emergency
In the event of an emergency we will try our best to have your pet seen, whether that is an appointment or a drop off to squeeze into our schedule. However we are a very small one veterinarian clinic. If our doctor is engaged with another pet that also needs her attention we will refer you to another clinic or the Animal ER of Grand Junction, CO. who can meet your needs ASAP. We love your babies and want to make sure they receive the urgent care they need even if that means we are not the ones to do that.
Boarding
We do not offer any type of boarding, daycare or grooming.
Microchip
We use a wonderful company named Homeagain that provide us with scannable microchip's at are registered in a nation wide database. They are inserted just under the skin between the shoulder blades via syringe. This can be done at any age and is a wonderful way to not only have the security of finding you pet if lost but also is a good way to prove that the animal belongs with you.
